 Mark Ponder is the founder and CEO of Excentul Technology Services, Inc.  Mark has spent over 35 years in the utility industry forging the way for new technology adoption in both the regulated and non-regulated electric utility markets. With extensive experience integrating utility control systems and data management technologies, Mark has been involved in several hundred system implementations (MDM, AMI, SCADA/EMS, GIS, CIS, OMS, GIS, ADMS and others) throughout his career at utilities in both the US and internationally.  

 

Mark spent the first 10 years of his utility career at AEP working for its’ Southwestern Electric Power Company division and was responsible for SCADA/EMS Generation & Transmission control Systems. In his final role at AEP as a Chief Technologist, Mark specialized and was focused on Utility Automation, Automated Metering technologies, Data Analytics and Systems Integration.

 

In 1999 Mark founded ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services, Inc. with a focus on helping utilities successfully deploy and integrate new and emerging operational systems and technologies. 

 

ElectSolve was rebranded to Excentul Technology Services, Inc in 2019 and today Mark continues to lead Excentul, innovating and delivering reliable technology solutions to Investor Owned(IOU),  Municipal, Public Power  and Electric Cooperative utility markets.

 

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Louisiana State University (LSU).
